NAVAL CASSIDY(Jonathan Giles), samplist, gets the most out of 4 tracks of 8-bit sound, feeding old records and radio snippets into his 'Crunchy Bit Machine', an Amiga 600 computer. This co-founder of live video groups 77 Hz and Diver Gone has played with 99 Hooker, Lord Knows Compost, and Hoppy Kamiyama.
, multi-instrumentalist, plays the Slide Geisha, Noise
Violin, Digital Presidents, and tapes found in the garbage to create
dense soundscapes both mesmerizing and discomforting. Hoppy has played
with numerous musicians including George Clinton and John Zorn, and
currently he records with his bands The Pugs, Fo-Mo-Flo, Olivia
New-Ton-Jon, and Saboten, amongst others. He has produced CDs for
several labels, including his own, 'God Mountain'.
,Composer, violinist. Hwang's ensemble, Far East Side Band, has 2 CD's: "Urban Archaeology" and "Caverns". They have performed both here and abroad, including Beijing International Jazz Festival. Hwang has also collaborated with: Vladimir Tarasov, Henry Threadgill, Butch Morris, Makanda Ken MacIntyre. He recently received a Meet the Composer/New Residency Grant and an NEA to create an opera about Chinatown.
is a dancer and sound artist who has been working in NYC
since 1981. Moran curates "+/-", an ongoing dancer, electronic music
and DJ improvisation series in New York. Other recent projects include
Operating System Bug, an electronic sound trio, and
"Agonist/Antagonist", a movement duet.
